A lei can be a symbol of love, friendship, respect, appreciation, or accomplishment.
They are traditionally worn to celebrate graduations,weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, mother's day, father's day, the Lei Day holiday, and many other special occasions.
It is also traditional to present a lei to a person who is arriving in or leaving Hawaii.
